I grew a tub of it. Germination was fast, the grass grows fast, and my chickens love it!
I intended to cover this with chicken wire and put in the run, but it was too heavy for me.
I just bring out my scissors or hand pull some clumps into the run, and the girls gobble it up!
Next year i’ll carry the box into the pen before i add the dirt so that they can snack at will

I stumbled across this product when searching for an organic snack for my chickens and thought I'd give it a try. I can't say enough great things about this wheatgrass! After 10 days of germination I was able to harvest and give to my chickens. They absolutely LOVED the grass and ate it all in one sitting. I saved a little bit to give it to my cat and he loved it too!
The free sample of Chick Fresh was an added bonus! I love the smell and it really helps control the odors in and around my coop. I also used it in my cat's litter box and it worked great there as well! Happy animals all around in our house, thank you Coop Care!!!
You really get a good supply with this purchase - two 1 lb bags of the non-GMO organic seeds plus the odor control spray, which altogether seems like a really good deal. I especially prefer organic natural products, both for our animals and our family. The seeds germinate easily and quickly, and wheatgrass is a really healthy plant not just for our cat and chickens, but also for people who can juice it, and our ducks like it too. I would like to plant more outside when the weather warms, but I will have to make sure I plant it differently for the chickens than the ducks. Ducks nuzzle with their beaks into the ground and will dig up the roots, so I will have to put a fine metal screen over theirs so they can only get to the upper grass part. Our chicken coop rarely smells because chickens hate water and everything is pretty dry, plus we shovel it out and throw sweet bedding in frequently. But the spray certainly can help with our duck house which is a daily mess and can get smelly. Ducks love everything to be wet and messy. They mix their food with water, throw water all over the place, poop everywhere, and track in mud, so it has to be hosed down and shoveled out frequently, which you can't do in winter so it gets worse. Overall, I'm really happy with this wheatgrass and spray, which smells good too.
We have chickens, and they love germinated seeds. I was able to pour a layer of the seeds onto 10X20 trays, and keep them wet until they germinated. I misted them with water a coupe of times until it was time to feed them to the birds. I also put a smaller tray of them out in the house, for our cats to enjoy. The chicken and cats all really loved the wheat grass. We don't have an issue with odor in our coop, but the spray smells nice, and everything in it appears to be completely safe for use around the birds. It's nice to have the spray to "freshen" the air in the coops from time to time, especially if we know we're going to have farm visitors hanging out around the chickens.
