Directions: If in an enclosed coop or run, find a dry location safe from rain and snow. Preferably in a sunny location with daily shade. Select a suitably sized container (wooden box, cat litter pan, kiddie pool, old tires) to hold two-three chickens at a time-wide enough for them to stretch out their wings. You will want it deep enough to hold 6” of dust bath material while leaving 4” of head space. Drill drainage holes and secure to keep from tipping. Fill and invite your chickens in for their spa day! If your flock free ranges, add to their favorite dust bowls they’ve already created.

I mix this 100% Volcanic Ash with white sand in a shallow bowl and my hens love taking turns "bathing" in the dust. I also sprinkle a little diatomaceous earth in which helps kill the parasites. Mixing this ash with sand will make this 6lb bag last a long time. This mixture makes their feathers look shiny and clean. I have learned that chickens NEED a dust bath to rid themselves of mites and other parasites, so I keep this handy for them,

I purchased this dust bath for my chickens to use while they clean themselves. I like that you get a big volume but only need a little amount for your chickens. I like that the volcanic ash has a very fine feel to it and it's lightweight. There are no harsh smells or chemicals added. The ingredients are clean and pure. The quality is excellent for the price.
